Real Estate Weekly - Jersey City condo project gets off to a Grand startJersey City Mayor Glenn D. Cunningham and other city officials joined developers recently to officially break ground on The Grand View, a new luxury condominium community located in Jersey City's vibrant, downtown waterfront district.
The four-story, L-shaped building is rising on the last piece of the former Colgate-Palmolive assemblage and will feature 40 elegantly-designed homes on three residential floors situated over ground-level covered parking.
"Today is a celebration of the coming of another great residential community for the residents of Jersey City," declared Mayor Cunningham. "It will certainly be a great addition to the historic Paulus Hook neighborhood."
Pre-construction sales for The Grand View's studio, one- and two-bedroom homes have already commenced at prices ranging from $225,000 to $750,000, according to Hoboken-based Metro Homes, which is developing The Grand View just two blocks from the riverfront in the historic Paulus Hook neighborhood of the city.
"We are pleased to be a part of the continued revitalization of Jersey City," noted Paul Fried, a Metro Homes principal. We believe The Grand View will be a distinguished addition to Jersey City's downtown residential landscape and one that all of the city will be proud of."
Designed by Dean Marchetto Architects of Hoboken, the distinctive brownstone-and-brickwork Grand View building will strongly suggest the underlying architectural look prevalent in the Paulus Hook Historic District.
In addition to The Grand View, Metro Homes is also currently developing Liberty Point, 32 condominiums and a ground-floor restaurant on Warren Street in Jersey City. Current projects under development in Hoboken include Southgate and Cypress Point, while numerous other residential and commercial properties are underway throughout Hudson County.
